Reflexology Treatments

What happens during a treatment session?

At the start of your first treatment there will be a consultation which will last about twenty minutes. The practitioner will discuss your symptoms, past and present medical history, lifestyle and any issues of concern you may have.

Before the treatment starts the practitioner will examine your feet(or hands). In order to do this you will be asked to take off your shoes and socks and lie down on a special reflexology chair. Each treatment starts with relaxation movements on the feet. The practitioner will only use their hands to apply pressure to the feet by specific thumb and finger movements. The pressure used will vary according to the reaction of the client thereby giving a treatment suited to that particular person.

Typical Session #01By working all areas of the feet any changes or imbalance in specific areas or points on the feet will be detected. These areas can then be worked by the practitioner to aid the release of any blockages and improve circulation and elimination. Any tension can be eased and the body's natural balance restored.

After the initial treatment the practitioner will have an understanding of your individual needs and which particular areas of the feet to work on in future treatments.

A course of treatments will be agreed which usually consists of 6 to 8 sessions but may vary according to each individual persons needs.
